OCASI- Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants Access and Equity Program is seeking 26 volunteer Champions for the 2019-20 fiscal year. Your commitment would begin on April 1, 2019, and end on March 31, 2020.

What is an Access and Equity Champion?

An Access and Equity Champion is someone who is passionate about advocating and working towards creating welcoming, accessible and positive agencies that benefits LGBTQIA+ immigrants and refugees and/or those with in/visible disabilities. You don't have to be an expert, just have a desire and capacity to learn and make a difference in your local community.

What Does a Champion do?

Access and Equity Champions host one-two educational events in immigrant and refugee communities about LGBTQIA+ immigrants and refugees and/or those with in/visible disabilities over the course of the year. It's a flexible role that allows you to be creative and design your own events, with support.

When does training take place?

An Orientation and Training will occur from April 12th-13th, 2019 in Toronto, ON. Hotel and accommodation will be provided for those chosen from outside the Greater Toronto Area.

Why Should I Become a Champion?

This volunteer position recognizes the work you are already doing in your community, in your schools, gives you an opportunity to build your skills, contacts, and experience, and connects you with others doing similar work across the province.

When is the Deadline to Apply?
